A perfect day at Railsplitter Field was ruined by the visiting Dexter Dreadnaughts as they beat the Railsplitters 8-0. Lincoln’s starting pitching was simply off on this day. Dexter had two doubles and a home run in the first inning setting the pace for the game.

Offensively Lincoln didn’t fair much better. Cam Thompson, Jacob Campbell, Carson Kern, and Nick Morgan (a double) got the only hits on the day.

The bright spots for Lincoln was the play of their junior catcher, Carson Kern. He battled behind the dish blocking pitches in the dirt doing by sacrificing every part of his body. Morgan came into the game in relief and pitched 3.1 innings of four hit baseball giving up only one run while scattering four hits.
